You can't believe the price I paid. I ordered a set of pet stairs from SmartBargains. They were rated for dogs up to 80 lbs, and my dog weighs 20 lbs. The wood on the stairs snapped during normal use less than two weeks after purchase and almost injured by dog. I was on hold with customer service for almost an hour, after which they asked me to send them photos of the stairs. I didn't hear anything back for two days, after which they told me to contact the manufacturer.

They won't provide me with the manufacturer's contact information it's not available anywhere online and won't give me a refund for a defective product that I purchased from them.

Hold time on their customer service line is terrible and they are totally unwilling to stand behind their products. The customer service is awful at this place. I bought a King Size comforter that supposedly came with 12 pieces. The comforter was in OK condition as well as the other pieces, but the sheets were for a full size bed and are completely useless. I sent a quick email requesting a replacement and they responded back requesting my number.

After breezing through their email a second time after they failed to contact me, I realized they wanted my phone number not my order number. It has been weeks and they still haven't got back to me with a solution.

If you expect to do a majority of your business online, you have to be responsive to your customers. This issue could have easily been taken care of with replacement sheets or at least a credit. I wouldn't buy anything from this lackluster business in the future. You shouldn't either. Seems to be gone, only two items on the entire site. Too bad, they were pretty good last time I used them 9 years ago. Is Smartbargain exist anymore all I want to know where's my order I have written you 3 times no answer.

I echo your thoughts exactly about putting a point on the board for Boston, Jeff. The consumer internet board, that is. Yes, I absolutely love shopping on member-only sites for saving money online. I have been finding the best deals at Rue La La and Gilt as of late. However, you have to get to the sale fairly early when it opens because these deals are selling out so fast.

Such is life. Just so you know… Here are a few choice invitation codes to Members-Only shopping websites so you can check them out for yourself.
