It feels as if the company is relying on a revolving door of new hires, as it develops existing talent to leave in search of higher wages.
Pros Great people. Cons No incentives. Was this review helpful? Report Share. Loved my time here, met some amazing people! The discount plus the pay and allowance in club bucks were great. Pretty easy work as a key holder. Pros Discount and coworkers. Cons No work life balance during holidays. Good benefits, good pay, and a good support system. The only bad experiences I had were with individual managers that eventually left the company. The company responded quickly to the Covid pandemic and even had an emergency fund for employees struggling during the outbreak.
Pros Good Benefits, Helpful Resources. Yes There are 1 helpful reviews 1 No. Hours was now gray at all could have been better. Do you enjoy working at your company? Help people considering your employer make a good choice.
Avoid this job!!! No raises. POC barely get promoted, recognized or raises. Unhealthy work environment. People hired after you are more likely to get a higher pay.
Pros Nice coworkers, k plan. Cons Short breaks, high daily goal, no commission, demanding managers. Company has money to give so pay can be negotiable starting, aim high. It is a great way to trap employees because their employee advancement plans aren't solid and done poorly.
You could be stuck in a position for years without ever getting a pay raise or title. The inclusion training is also pretty bad, especially for corporate employees and area managers. The company wants to take pride in affordable luxury but fails to provide tools to give clients luxury service. Extremely behind on technology. Lack of employees No room for creative freedom or advancement.
Brand needs some re-working. Pros breaks, pay, benefits, coworkers. Cons management, lack of empathy, poor leadership, bad hours for part-time. I have not been at Club Monaco for a year yet, but have been able to objectively see it in front of me. In April, a lot of our team was furloughed. The remaining team members were given a pay-cut equitable to a 3-day work week which leadership, to our knowledge, also is experiencing , but given the reduced staff has begun working far more than 40 hours a week.
I can't fathom why a company with so much wealth and an alarming salary disparity and so many resources would prioritize the "leaders" over the "doers" especially when it comes to pay. With that said, before my furlough, I found the company to have an electric energy: the team chemistry was fantastic and the collaboration was not like anything I've seen. I will admit that there is some reticence to challenge things as they have been, regardless of effectiveness of productivity, which has always left me confused.
Upward mobility also seems a difficult and strangled process that involved a restructuring and inheritance of responsibilities, but this is never fully expressed in any concrete terms, nor is it addressed during evaluations.
Pros Good team chemistry. Cons Poor leadership and too much red tape. Working at CM was a pretty awesome experience for me. I was in between choosing a job to work under and chose this simply because of the people working here. The majority of people working here were amazing to work with and we all worked as a team everyday to give the best possible service we could to customers. This is one of the few retail jobs I genuinely liked working in and would totally do it again if they were to re-hire.
I even got a few compliments from customers themselves! The hardest part of the job would be balancing like customers worst case , and going back and forth but that's rare. Goals were pretty easy to meet and you were not penalized for not making goal. Coming from places like Saks and Macys, this was such a breath of fresh air. Pros You get free lunches sometimes, the discounts are god-tier, their clothes actually look good, great people.
Cons None. Official response from Club Monaco April 10, Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We will be sharing your feedback with the appropriate teams. Jobs at Club Monaco. Seasonal Support Associate. Part Time Stylist. Sales Associate. Part Time Stock Associate. Seasonal Sales Associate. This company is operated under Ralph Lauren Corporation so when it comes to customer expectations and needs it will always be above and beyond.
If you are a key holder or hold any manager title affiliation, you will earn your full time hours. The location I had worked for is a new location that hired teen resumes and candidates with barely any experience in retail.
Management is not run the best. Scheduling is a mess. Hopefully you work in a good area with a good team of staff members. The pay is efficient for what you do. Retail is retail and a lot of gossip and back-tongue happen especially with upper management it only makes it more unprofessional. You will only get hours based off behaviors and performance. Stay on your managers good side We understand retail comes with its challenges.
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review, we appreciate you doing so! Thank you for being at the front line of our consumer! We appreciate you.
To be honest, i had worst experiences than i thought. I want to learn and add new skills but I ended up learning some of it on my own.
It like they hide from you which put u down. The pro is that one of the distinct manger is really helpful where he can able to share the product knowledge to understand why and what is the benefit. Thank you for being at the front line of our consumer - we appreciate you and taking the time to leave a review.
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review, we appreciate you doing so. Supportive team and management that creates a healthy and fun work environment. It is fast paced and you are required to dress elevated.
Good hours and job benefits. Official response from Club Monaco 30 January Thank you for taking the time to leave a review, we appreciate you and being a part of Club Monaco! Working at Club Monaco was an interesting experience. You work with very wealthy and sometimes very fussy customers. We tried our absolute best to make our customers feel comfortable and never pressured. Jobs at Club Monaco. Fashion Stylist. Seasonal Sales Associate. Seasonal Stylist.
Sales Associate. Stylist- Club Monaco. I worked in the backroom as a stock associate and the workload is bearable. Sometimes management ask you to do things that they don't want to do and get mad at you for not knowing how to, but overall it's a good place to work at if you can deal with bossy managers who only care about selling and making money for the company!
The store is always dead you are always looking something to do I was bored all the time and also when you sell something you receive 0 commission so no motivation at all. Yes There are 3 helpful reviews 3 No. The customer is always right! I have always considered myself a pretty patient person but working in retail really puts your patience to the test.
Sometimes you will be put into irritating situations, but you have to stay calm, listen to the customer, not get frustrated and endure.
Pros Discounts. Cons Long hours. Fun and dynamic team! Working as a stylist at Club Monaco was an interesting experience that help me build confidence, when you talk to your customers and guide them. I also allowed me to see myself react to some stressful events such as Black Friday or Christmas where the shop is extremely busy. But thanks to the amazing team, I always had a really fun time at work and we always help each other get better at our job.
Yes There are 1 helpful reviews 1 No There are 1 unhelpful reviews 1. Club Monaco is a very fast-paced environment and the Yorkdale location was always so busy. It was a great job to practice your communication skills and multi-tasking skills. At club you learn a lot about how to be a good manager and how to maximize your stylists to generate money. What set up to make and how to coach them on a daily basis. A former employee at the Thornhill location: I enjoyed my time there, thanks to the team I had and clients.
I wish I can also say that about management. Just like any other retail job you will be expected to sell and make your goal. It can be difficult at this location due to the type of clientele the store gets. If not, start looking for another job because you will NOT be given hours for the following week s. My biggest advice: learn how to manage your time. In between trying to make sales, management will bombard you with random tasks to complete, simply because they're too lazy to do it themselves, or whatever they had to do in the office was more important.
To succeed you need to have thick skin I had grown adults yelling at me because they did not agree with our policy. Oh, and when you find yourself in that situation, don't bother getting your SM for assistance.
She refuses to deal with customer issues and will purposely hide in the backroom. There were many times where customers wanted to speak to the manager and she would pass it off to Keyholders to deal with. Hilarious, since Keyholders really did not have the authority to "bend the rules". She was very condescending and I have personally experienced her belittle not only myself but entire team, and customers.
Will cry and complain to the DM about every mishap Was given all the closing shifts. Pros Everyone and everything except child running the store. Cons child running the store aka Store Manager. Yes There are 5 helpful reviews 5 No.
Besides holidays the store's are usually empty since there is a niche market. Nice being able to have close customer relations turn them into clients. Did not like the sales goals. Hefty discount. Cons Not enough hours. The job is pretty straight forward and enjoyable. Time goes by swiftly. Lousy team of management!!! Location lacks a team. Management constantly threatens you with the fear of not getting hours if you aren't making your sales goal.
There was no coaching from management either, instead you will get written up constantly Environment was toxic and negative. Overall, amazing company, but lousy team of management. Avoid this location at all cost. Definitely not worth it. You will never be recognized or appreciated. Pros Discount.
